The purpose of this database is to provide synopses of a
range of studies evaluating the returns to investment in
training as well as the effectiveness of certain training
programmes. There are approximately 100 studies currently
summarised within the database covering numerous countries,
different types of training programmes and employing various
methodological approaches. Given the proliferation of this
work over recent years, the database aims to assist
researchers in pinpointing existing studies that may be useful
for future work. Individual studies are classified according
to a number of key word categories including country, author,
language as well as type of training, target group and
methodology employed to facilitate cross-referencing.
If you would like to comment on this database, to recommend
additional studies and/or to submit your own reviews, please
contact Sarah Elson-Rogers by email (ser@cedefop.eu.int).
The reviews have been prepared by ISFOL (Institute for the
Development of Vocational Training) in Italy, the Institute of
Education in Britain and the Economic and Social Research
Institute in Ireland.
